Priest River

Traveling  west from Sandpoint on Highway 200 for about 30 minutes you'll drive right into Priest River. It's a beautiful drive as you follow the water most the way.  Priest River is its own community with several banks, grocery stores and hardware stores. Albani Dam runs a major hydro electric plant on Priest River before it flows into the state of Washington. Its easy to all of a sudden be in the state of Washington as the city of Newport, WA is just crossing over an intersection on Highway 200. Priest River offers the best of both worlds, pristine properties right on Priest River, which is the river that outflows from Pend Oreille Lake, or mountain retreats heading up to Priest Lake. The ground is a bit dryer than you'll find in the forests farther up north, but its a nice suburb of Sandpoint.
